The study aims to identify the main challenges facing female workers in the ready-made garment sector, based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative research. Which will, identify the most significant obstacles and challenges facing female workers in the industrial sector, specifically the ready-made garment sector, and draw key conclusions and recommendations regarding required interventions. Understanding the main challenges and obstacles reducing labor turnover and helping factories retain for skilled and trained workers, thus increasing production rates, adopting a participatory approach to identify and address actual, rather than theoretical, challenges and problems. The participatory approach (i.e., primary field research) involves conducting discussions with key relevant stakeholders (female workers in ready-made garment factories in the targeted governorates) to explore issues from different perspectives, contexts, and communities, depending on the nature of work in each governorate. Before the beginning of the study, the company implemented two important phases: – First: A diagnostic study (conducted using a number of local and international sources) – Second: A preliminary evaluation (inspection visits on the sidelines of the workshops) The goal of both studies was to gain a better understanding of the knowledge, behaviors, and needs of garment factory workers, both male and female, regarding the causes and obstacles that lead to job turnover. This was done in order to design interventions tailored to their circumstances and needs, thus ensuring their continued employment. |
